Courses and Programs
Spain is the perfect destination to learn Spanish in its native setting. There are many schools and institutes offering intensive courses for all levels, from beginner to advanced, with a focus on speaking and cultural immersion.

Visa
If you plan to study in Spain for less than 90 days, the process is simple: Brazilian citizens can enter as tourists and attend short courses without needing a visa. For longer programs, a student visa must be requested before arrival.

Work
Students enrolled in academic programs can legally work up to 30 hours per week while studying, as long as they’re enrolled in Undergraduate, Postgraduate or Technical programs in accredited institutions. Full-time work is allowed during vacation periods.

Cultural Activities
Barcelona and Madrid are full of museums, street festivals, and cultural centers like MACBA and Matadero Madrid. In Seville, enjoy an authentic flamenco show and discover open-air student events and cultural fairs.
Must-See Attractions
Don’t miss the Sagrada Familia, the Royal Palace of Madrid, and Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. The Alhambra in Granada is one of the most iconic sites for lovers of history and architecture.
Short Trips
From Madrid, take the train to Toledo, Ávila or Salamanca. From Barcelona, explore Sitges or Tarragona. The high-speed trains (AVE) make weekend getaways quick, easy and ideal to enjoy with friends.
Cost of Living
Spain offers a great balance between quality of life and affordability. Students often share apartments and eat set meals (menú del día) for under 10 euros. Apps like BlaBlaCar help with affordable travel across the country.
Food and Gastronomy
Evening tapas are a must! Markets like San Miguel (Madrid) and La Boquería (Barcelona) offer traditional food and a lively atmosphere. Try tortilla, bocadillos and jamón serrano.
Nightlife and Social Life
Neighborhoods like Malasaña (Madrid) and El Born (Barcelona) are packed with trendy bars and parties. Nightlife starts late, and many students join Erasmus parties and university events open to everyone.
Testimonial

Melissa Negreiros
I loved my trip to Barcelona — six wonderful months! I took an intensive Spanish course during that time, stayed with a host family for the first month, and then shared an apartment with other students. Catalans and Spaniards are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The city has a vibrant nightlife and amazing restaurants. Big thanks to WTS for all the support — not just while organizing my exchange, but also during my time in Spain, helping me resolve some issues quickly and smoothly.
